This article will be really handy for sole traders or small businesses who are looking to up their SEO game. It gives advice on how you can get a discounted version of their standard Moz Pro deal by accessing their ‘starter’ package from $39 a month.
Here’s everything you need to know about getting the cheapest Moz Pro subscription
Moz is one of the best Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) tools on the market. Similar to SEMrush, it’s easy to use and will help you with keyword research, tracking where you rank, site crawling to identify errors, on-page optimisation and linkbuilding. In fact, Moz developed the Domain Authority (DA) metric, which assesses how likely your website is to rank against your competitors in search engine results.
Yes! You can get unfiltered access to Moz for 30 a month. While this won’t be enough time to track your progress you can learn a lot about how your website is currently performing, as well as do a lot of invaluable research to help you create an SEO strategy that will improve your position with Google, Bing and other search engines.
Just be a little cautious because you do have to enter your credit card details.
On Moz’s website it advertises four packages:
Standard: $99 (≈£74) a month or $79 (≈£59) if paid yearly. For this, one user can run 3 campaigns and track 300 keyword rankings.
Medium: $179 (≈£135) a month or $143 (≈£108) if paid yearly. For this, two users can run 10 campaigns and track 1,500 keyword rankings.
Large: $299 (≈£225) a month or $239 (≈£180) if paid yearly. For this, three users can run 25 campaigns and track 3,000 keyword rankings.
Premium: $599 (≈£450) a month or $479 (≈£360) if paid yearly. For this, five users can run 50 campaigns and track 4,500 keyword rankings.
There is also an Enterprise option for large businesses and agencies.
Unfortunately, all of these costs do not include any applicable tax like VAT!
Moz has a discounted option that they cheekily don’t widely advertise called Starter, which costs just $49 (≈£37) a month or $39 (≈£29) if paid yearly. For this, one user can run 1 campaign and track 50 keyword rankings.
You’ll be offered a subscription to pro if you cancel a free trial but you can also copy and paste this link into your browser and it should take you to the checkout for a Starter subscription:

Starter won’t be for everyone as you can only practically use it for one website, and probably not a very large website, but it’s a great, affordable option for small businesses looking to up their SEO game.
Yes. If you’re a registered charity or non-profit then Moz encourages you to email them to ask for more information, but if you dig deeper into their website they do say that they offer a 75% discount on Moz subscriptions if you can provide evidence of your charitable status.
Aside from the free trial, they offer a free version called Community. It’s pretty limited as it only gives you access to MozBar (which allows you to review a website’s DA), Keyword Explorer and Link Explorer. In other words, it’s not great for you running SEO checks and maintenance on a website and it also won’t track the ranking of any keywords but it’s still a handy tool for doing research to inform your SEO strategy.
